as many of you know, justin has been in the process of building his own shop / apartment which in itself is a huge project.  you can read about it here if you were not aware of it - http://www.cncguns.com/forum/index.php?topic=263.0

as of 3/06/08 he sold his house, so a move is in order, again another large project.

As of 3/06/08, I've sold my house and I've been very busy trying to get everything packed up for the big moving day.  On top of that, I've been trying to finish up my shop/apartment so I have a place to live.  The pic to the left shows where I'm currently at.  I still need to paint the walls, acid stain the floor and hang the drop ceiling.  Then once I get all the plumbing fixtures installed, I should be pretty much finished, besides a few odds and ends.  Please understand if I can't respond to emails as quickly as before.  I hope here in a couple months things will finally get back to normal and I'll be able to start building guns again.

just wanted to keep everyone up to date

Where are you going to put the couch that I'll be sleeping on?  Grin

Yes, I'd like an M240 please...no no, the other one, the belt fed!  Oh, and while I'm here, let me also get a big gulp, a powerball quick-pick, and a pack of Marlboro's, Thanks.

Update: I am officially homeless  Grin  I closed on my house yesterday and I'll be staying with my parents for the next couple weeks until I get my apartment livable.  I currently only have dial-up internet at the shop since I've built the shop in a rural area.  It's pretty sad going from high-speed cable internet to dial-up.  I'm actually really surprised though, I guess they have come up with a way to make the dial up faster, so checking email isn't a major pain as long as there are no huge attachments.  I guess downloading attachments with dialup still takes a while.  Hopefully sometime within the next couple weeks I'll have a little faster internet connection.  Cable and DSL isn't available in my area.  I've heard bad things about the Satellite internet.  I've tried one of those cell phone internet cards, but it was actually slower than the dial up speeds....haha.  As far as I know, my only other option is to go with a wireless internet, but the bad thing is I need to see the tower where they are broadcasting from.  In order to see the towers I'll have to run some cables through the woods to the top of a hill.... hopefully no deer or squirrels will eat through the cable haha... I'll probably put it in conduit just in case.

I'm still shipping packages since customers come first!!!! Smiley Smiley Smiley

Not sure if you have the internet thing worked out yet or not.

I ended up with exactly what you described. There is seven hundred feet of cable from the house to the tree. Then the antenna is ninety feet up the tree. There are three powered switches to make the signal go that far over Cat 5e. I also have a wireless link that goes to the neighbors barn a half mile away across open field.

Sometimes you just have to be creative.

Just got to reading this.  Justin I hope you have your new placed finished up because I have a weeks worth of vacation time I need to use and I plan on spending it at your shop.  I will be the designated "know it all newbie" or something.  If not, I will bring tools and trade residential construction labor for machining labor.  Okay, sounds good to me,.... see you in a month or so.  Seriously though, I figure the house/shop is either completely finished up or still a work in progress based of the lack of pics posted since March?

I really got burned out on the construction.  My shop/apartment is livable, but it's not 100% complete.  I still have to do all the trim work and a little touch up paint here an there.  I guess it's true what they say how you shouldn't move in until it's 100% complete, otherwise you may not ever finish it....haha  Once I have it all finished up, I'll post and update with new pics.

You may have to wait in line, because I think there are few other guys who are wanting to spend their vacation time in my shop...haha
