This list is closed.  BUT no worries, Justin has another list that he is tracking for those that did not get in on this group.  From this point forward, contact justin - justin@cncguns.com to get setup on his list.

Hi Guys,

E mailed Justin and inquired about an AR45 80% receiver. He (Justin) said if we could get at least 20 people he would do a run of 80% receivers at $295.00 plus shipping, any less and it would not be worth it for him.

I'm in for one, anybody else???

Hi Guys,

Merry Christmas....

With all the hype the media is doing about gun control, Justin is willing to run a few extra AR45 80% lowers for anyone that would like to "up" their order. Who knows what this administration will conger up next, better to be prepared. If you would like to add to your order, e mail Justin at <justin@cncguns.com>

Hi Guys,

Hope you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year....

There's only a couple days left to send payment for any extras that they may want.  After the 1st operation is finished there is no more adding to the list... since it will require a whole new setup of 1st operation.  Justin did cut a few extras, but they probably won't last long. e mail Justin at <justin@cncguns.com> if you want to add to the order.

Here's the progress of the lowers as of today...

The first 3 operations are finished on the 80% AR45 lowers.

Justin contacted me and asked me to poll the purchasers of the AR45 lowers. The reason for this is the following:

**************************************************************
Option (1) - Keep running these 80% AR45 lowers so they are basically just like the ones I've sold in the past.  The time frame to finish is February or maybe a little sooner.

Option (1)  - END RESULT - Lowers finished sooner but it won't have the extra holes mentioned in option 2.... since these holes were also not drilled in the previous batches of unfinished AR45 lowers.
***************************************************************
***************************************************************
Option (2) - I can change up the way I normally machine the rest of the 80% AR45 operations by purchasing a $10,000 piece of tooling for my CNC.  I will of course eat the price of the tooling since it will make the whole process easier.  This will allow me to finish the pistol grip hole, front take down pin detent hole, rear take down pin detent hole, buffer retainer hole and the recess hole where the buttstock nub fits in.  To get this piece of tooling in my shop will require about 3 weeks plus about a week or so to get installed and running.

Option (2) - END RESULT - Adds about a month delay to the 80% AR45 lowers, but it allows them to be more complete so they are easier to finish out.
****************************************************************

My opinion - I am opting for Option 2. This option gives us a more complete 80% paperweight and eases the job of completion on our part (would only have to complete the Fire control pocket and anodize)

Justin realizes everyone is anxious to get these in their hands ASAP, and says he will do them however we wish.

If you could, please e mail me your opinion at <one_johnnyv@yahoo.com>.

Unfortunately, there will not be an option #2 for extra work on the AR45's as we and Justin had hoped. It appears that the tooling representative left out a few things (around $3000.00 worth of things) and put it out of Justin's price range. I believe it was very generous of Justin to bite the bullet (so to speak) for the additional tooling and to offer us a bit more than previous 80% buyers received. Kind of sucks, but such is life.

Below is the e mail I received from Justin today explaining the situation:

Subject: Re: AR45 - Options

John,
I called the tooling rep yesterday to place the order and now he's saying the lead time is 4 weeks instead of the 2 weeks, and on top of that, the final price is almost $13,000 since there were a couple items he left off the initial quote.  I was like WTF!!!!  I told him to forget it so I'm just going to go back to option 1.  I was pretty pissed when he said an extra 2 weeks plus $3000 more.  I hope the guys don't get mad but I didn't see this coming.  I will still try to do a little more on these lowers compared to the last batch.

Thanks,
Justin Halford

If you purchased one or more of Justin's AR45 lower paperweights and are interested in a "Group Buy" for the BAD-ASS Safety Selector from Battle Arms Development, PM me with your e mail address and I'll forward you the details.

************************************************
************************************************
I have worked out a deal with Battle Arms Development (BAD) for a Group Buy on their ambidextrous safety selector, otherwise known as the BAD-ASS. For those of you not familiar with BAD, you can view their site here.

The deal is as follows:

BAD will give us a 15% discount plus free shipping, but only to one destination, to me of course.

The price for a 3 lever kit would be $50.00

The price for a 2 lever kit would be $44.00

Downside to this deal, you will have to pay $5.25 shipping (my cost to ship to you)

I am offering this to the guys from the AR45 80% group buy only, but if you have some friends that would like one also include them with your order. There is no limit on this buy.... When we get a commitment for 20 units, I will let you know where to send the money.

takedown pins are different diameters so you would need a 0.25" bushing in the rear hole, and the rear surface of jig would protrude beyond the end of the lower, pretty much the opposite to this situation, which is a CNC10 in a CNC AR15 jig modified for the wider AR45 magwell:

If he will sell a jig that will allow the easy completion of the 80% lower (something similar to the ar15 lower jigs out there), I would be interested in one as long as it isn't more expensive than a completed AR45 lower. I like the idea of building from an 80% to avoid paperwork.

As per Justin:

The AR45 80% lower does come with the magazine catch.

He will sell a modified jig for the AR45 at the same price of an AR15 jig. (if you already have an AR15 jig, it can be modified to work on the AR45).

for those that are not sure where or how to complete an upper half for an AR45 If sufficient interest is present...I'll be glad to run a group buy (as soon as I run it by Justin) for DI uppers and perhaps builders kits.
Her is apic of what my standard upper looks like on the AR45 Lower.....

If we have enough participating who is collecting the deposit and where to send address? My house needs 2 AR 45 lower 80% paper weights and will need two uppers of conservative design.

Would most likely send the money to Justin, since he is making them....

Mongo voiced some interest in the lower, but never heard back as to whether or not he was in...

I'll most likely be down for 2.  Might have a friend get one also, but waiting to hear back.  Got plans for a Car 16 A2 and a SBR A3.

Johnny_V,

Could I request that you just keep the first post up-to-date?  Will keep everything easier and people will just have to hit the first post to know where everything stands.

Thanks in advance,

Is this group buy over or are you still looking for buyers. I"d need three, great bowling pin fun.
Really put me down for 3 and the jig required to finish them.

OK guys, this is an opportunity you shouldn't let slip by. This is a chance to have one of the finest billet AR45 receivers made. Mad Machinist is willing to work out a deal on uppers also, provided we put together an order of 10 or more. C'mon, let's get this party rolling so we can have a winter project. We've got a commitment for 8, let's bump that up a bit....

I'm down for a total of 2 not 1.  So, that should be only 9 needed.  Plus, I've already have Mad Machinist working on an 16" upper and a SBR upper.  So, I'm ready to get the party started.  Let's get those last 9, so we can get a run done.
Thanks,
SB
