I picked up my lower on friday.  I had to work all night, and went to an out of town wedding on Saturday, so I didn't get to put it together until sunday night.  I had my own lower parts kit, and as a newbie, I took my time.  I got it done, took a picture, but for some reason, photobucket was having a hard time uploading the picture.

Also, I seem to have done something wrong.  I bought a RRA two stage trigger and put it in, but it is not functioning properly.  I have looked at the online diagrams and read all of the instructions, but I can't figure out what the problem is.  I get it together and the trigger doesn't work. Huh

If you email me the pics I will upload them for you.  My email is jwh02017@hotmail.com  As for the two stage trigger problem, I wish I could help but I've never played with the two stage triggers.  Can you explain what about the trigger isn't working?

I got photobucket to work for me again...

As for the trigger, I must not have it assembled correctly, but I have followed the instructions, disassembled, and did it again, to no avail.  Pulling the trigger does nothing.

I picked up my receivers on Friday, Built my AR45 on Saturday, and fired it on Sunday…. Everything went flawlessly!!!!

I use a Rock River 9mm upper that Tango Chaser modified with an Olympic ejector and had him set it up with a new barrel & bolt.  He had the upper built in a VERY short time and it works perfectly!  It’s certainly faster to order thru Tango Chaser as I still haven’t recieved my upper I ordered directly from Olympic the same day I ordered the AR45 receiver!  Thanx Tango

The receivers are VERY NICE! (Good thing I bought TWO)  Thanx again to Justin & Khalan !!!   I’ve purchased several magazines, two glossy black and five of  the flat gray color types.  My only complaint is the magazines are very tight in the mag well.  The glossy blacks just barely fit and it’s quite the pain to pull out.  The Gray color types won’t even go in the mag well!!  Maybe on the next batch of receivers, the mag well could be opened up a little so a standard mag will drop right out .  I will try the “Vice Trick” on the mags I have.

Here is a pic of the first configuration; I plan on building the second as an SBR with a silencer.

hello all,
i picked up my lower from khalan weaponry in person, as i live in nearby tn. machining looks great. all of my mags fit perfect!!! my mags are blued steel surplus that I unwrapped from the paper packing. i have about 20 of them.

here is the left side- VM Hi-Tech side charging upper. similar to the ameetec but much better. also a much better company to deal with(obviously). notice the gas block. the orig. front site was in the way of the red dot, so i just made my own gasblock from alum. roundstock. pretty simple, just bore the correct size hole and turned the outside to what i wanted. then added some setscrews. if you don't like it -OH WELL- its not yours. i like it.

here is a close up - a better view of the charging handle. BSA red dot scope-best $30 bucks i have spent in awhile(i was going to use it temporarily but i like it so much i am keeping it).

here is the right side - nothing special here. it has a UTG 4 rail handguard w/covers and a CAA tele stock.

here is a close up - view of the VM logo

here is the business end!!!  this is my 13 yr old shooting buddy

i built this upper myself using the VM upper, OLY barrel and BCG. i had to modify the upper to use the OLY ejector.
this gun runs fine. a few hiccups using hollowpoints. everything else runs smooth.
at 50 yds off the bench it can shoot 3" groups. off hand i can keep it at about 5". rapid fire off hand at 50 yds about 8". plenty good for me!!!

here's mine. lets see y'alls

Well? How does she run? Nicely done. What finish is that? Im thinking about getting OD Green furniture for mine for some contrast. Im just going with a 10.5 inch "Colt 9mm SMG" look for now. Nice job on yours, give us a range report.

Thanks fella's.  Runs great although I was only able to put 200 rds thru her.  Rain and chores have kept me in.  Maybe tomorrow I'll play again.  Accuracy is great, ran fine except one FTF and that was a mag issue (too hard in vise), suppressor is acceptable Cool.  Finish is Mitchell's/Khalan's work in Greywolf.

Which way do you squeeze the mags? Side to side or front to back? Would squeezing the mag between two lengths of 2x4 give equaly distributed pressure?

Both depending on where mag is hanging up. usually requires both directions as queezing the sides makes the front and rear bulge a little.

Start by puting a squared piece of angle iron or carpenters angle to see which sides of the mag are not square. Mostly trial and error a little at a time.

How well does the UMP work? How does it compare to any other 45 cans. What about the weight. Great looking rifle. Id like to get the ump but wanted to make sure its worth the extra weight/cost.

Couple of pics of the guys breaking it in after today's match.  Ran ok with some feeding issues related to the ejector...and an out of battery ignition.  Short story is the ejector partially ejected.

The first shooter is in the second lower buy  Wink  I'm still working on the second shooter  Cheesy

I received an email from Mitch today that said he was waiting for more lower parts kits.  I can't believe how long he takes to get anything done!

I ordered mine with a LPK and at this point he could keep the parts and the money and just send me the damn lower. Another thing that bothers me about this is how the hell can you already know how many people wanted completed lowers (for MONTHS!!!) and not make sure you had LPK's for those lowers? This whole project has turned me off to anymore pay now and wait an undetermined period of time for the product operations. At least it isn't as bad as the Shrike fiasco......
