I made this on my old Bridgeport at home. It makes 4 .750 rond balls each pour.
Now I just need to make a cannon to shoot them in.

I love you guys... I've wanted a cannon for over 40 years. When I was 5-6 years old, I used to drill out big bolts, fill with firecracker powder and a lead ball I hammered round from a piece of tireweight.

Very nice work. I made one like it but with a bore to shoot tennis balls filled with concrete. The barrel/tube weighed 90 lbs alone. I used one .22 Stinger box heaping full of 2F black powder to fire it. I got the super sonic crack with this load. The fireball was huge. I have it on video but it is 20 megs and I cant post it anywhere.

The tube was sitting on a few boat cusions to give it the correct elevation. It jumped up at the front about 10 inches and the whole thing went back about another 12 inches. Not to bad, but when you consider it weighed 90 lbs that was a lot of recoil.

23' Rabolo, 17' Whaler Montoc, 8' homemade hydroplane, a couple of kayaks (Made from molds I made myself, hence the name "banned member"). The last snail boats I sailed were a SanJuan 21 and Victoria 18. I really like the Morgan and would love to get one some day.

Aren't boating and gun collecting along the same lines as hobbies go, a great way to get poor quick? I've got to figure a way like goober to make my interest in boating pay the bills to some degree, but not much chance of that for me in Central Texas. Anybody near Austin wanna go barefooting or wakeboarding just say the word! Wish sailing was better here too, makes me miss the Seattle area... Sorry about the thread jack...

This has me thinking. I looked over at atf but couldn't make sense of anything. If anyone has exp, what is required to manuf a cannon? Alway's wanted to build one but just assumed it wasn't legal.

I don't think black powder stuff falls under the definition of 'firearm' or at least not 'destructive device.'
