AR45 with a Functioning bolt catch (LRBHO)?
« on: June 09, 2013, 10:14:11 AM »
Taking a poll to see what the owners of cnc ar45 lowers are doing about their bolt catch and its lack of a functioning as a (LRBHO) "last round bolt hold open"

Would the community like a product that would make the bolt catch functional with no modifications to the lower required, only the catch and mags are modified?

if so...

Ive been working on a design that has proven to work (not gonna show it till patented), but it has involved a ton of fabrication.  And with the right partnerships with people that have the capability to mass produce, this could possibly be offered at a reasonable price.

So what are your feelings on this guys?

I voted "YES I want a functioning last round catch", but if it doesn't happen, it's not a big deal. Also, price would be a determining factor. Just my 2

I agree that price will be the determining factor. Definitely after spending $400 on a lower receiver.
Im thinking the Kit will come with one modified mag and the bolt catch, extra mags would be available, or if you wanted to have your mags modified that could be an option as well.

I'd rather mod the receiver.

Modding the receiver will not work. The M3 mags don't have a provision to engage a bolt catch because the m3 fires from an open bolt, Hence modding the mags is the only way.

A bit hesitant to revive an older thread, but I was curious if this ever made any headway or just wandered into obscurity?

I have a functional product but not enough requests to put it into production.

Technically its not dead. I just need more people to buy it. If you guys really needed or wanted one i could build one offs if price wasn't too much of an issue.

Looks like Lowry hasn't logged-in since March of last year. Does anyone have his contact information? I'm really interested in getting this modification made to my magazines.
