Sometimes when I read some post around here, I think people become frustrated too easily.  I would like to see a little better communication, however, I don't see the wait as being any worse than sending money for a tax stamp and waiting for the ATF to return it.

Although the process is taking awhile, I can't complain knowing what I am paying for the machining.  This may vary by region, but I know what it would cost to have it machined locally.  I have two brother-in-laws who are machinest and we send stuff from our shop to get machined every month, and for me to take just one and have each step machined we cost me substantially more.  For what I paid, I am more than satisfied to wait.

Just thought I would share my thoughts,

Dan

Another thing that bothers me about this is how the hell can you already know how many people wanted completed lowers (for MONTHS!!!) and not make sure you had LPK's for those lowers?

No shit.

True it's like a ATF wait, but I could have had the thing SBR'd multiple times over for as long as some of us have been waiting. I just want both of my orders (lower and diopters) and be done with this. JMO

How long has everyone been waiting?  I have now been waiting 9 weeks.  He returned one of my phone calls back in early December and said it would be done then.  I have tried a few more times with phone calls and some emails with no response.  I sent him my receiver from Justin and wonder if he used it to complete someone elses order.

Well, I sent Mitchell a money order in late September.  At the time, he emailed me that the timeframe for completion was "fairly immediate".  I still haven't seen my FFL's name on his list although the info was faxed at the end of September.

Like others have said, it's not so much the waiting that bothers me.  In the past, I have waited without complaint for 6 months for custom items, because I knew it would be 6 months up front.  Like others, I would appreciate if Mitchell would take 15 minutes a week to update his customers who have paid him money up front.  Just a blanket post to the forums.  Then on Jan. 2 he posted that he has "started the shipping process", but he didn't mention anything about missing LPKs.   I have absolutely no clue what is going on anymore.

We've kind of hijacked this thread into an update thread...but here goes nuthin'.  ;)

I got a note from Mitch stating first to ship are stripped lowers with no engraving, then stripped with engraving, then the others.

It sounds like the stripped blank lowers already shipped and the stripped & engraved lowers will go out in a day or two.

The first shooter is in the second lower buy  ;)  I'm still working on the second shooter  :D

Does this mean you picked up Batch 2 lowers or were they shipped from Mitchell?  Just trying to figure out whats happening with deliveries.

No, mine was from the first run.

On the LPK thing, I ordered mine with LPK plus a magpul trigger guard.  That held things up (LPK) and it showed up missing the buffer spring & detent and rear takedown pin spring and detent.  So I was off to order more parts to complete it...

Here's my OOB round.

Had these pics in another thread but they really belong here.
Have the upper, barrel, bolt and magazines in hand.
I need a new delta ring and charging handle and I can assemble everything.

I have a second upper and some spare magazines to try a 10mm build   ;)

This is a batch-1.  An EoTech and an SRT Integral supressor are gonna be on this beast eventually  ;D

Current config:
Batch 1 AR45 lower
16" Oly barrel
RRA 9mm upper w/ oly internals installed by Tangochaser
CNCGuns A1 Carry Handle
Colt 4 pos stock

Shoots good.  I've only had a chance to run eight or ten rounds through it for a function check, But I'm planning to really put it through its paces this weekend.

Still need to tweak the feed lips as mine is a 10mm Auto, so I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet.

Come visit the BREN-TEN.com website and BREN-TEN.com forum for info and discussion on the Bren Ten and other 10mm firearms!
